Clubhouse App is an audio-only platform has been around since March 2020, when it was launched by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Paul Davidson and Rohan Seth. In May 2020, it had just 1.500 users.
But when Elon Musk hosted an audio-chat on Clubhouse with Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, the event maxed out the app conversation room limits and as of 1 February 2021, Clubhouse has 2 million users and now considered a unicorn startup.

It is an invention and iOS only platform at the moment (this will change at some point). There are two ways you can join for now, either you get invited by someone who’s on the app or you can sign up and wait for someone to let you in. When you are a member, you can follow anyone, join on clubs and start listening to any chat room – even the ones Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg are in.

So what made Clubhouse this successful? In the world of digital audio, with a pandemic going on, it is no wonder why Clubhouse is working, an app allowing people to connect with new and great people, have authentic conversations and have a good time… It’s like attending to a conference or going to a party. It is a social experience – with distance. You feel good when you close the app with the connections you made and the things you have learned, and that’s the best part.
Live conferences may be not possible right now, but the panel discussion needs doesn’t go anywhere. Clubhouse is a great way to host events and panels with its moderation and speaker features.
Clubhouse sees clubs as a way to host a series of intimate conversations with a defined community of people. They are the key to build a community in the app. The goal with clubs is to get people come together regularly based on shared interests, identities, activities, and more.
